Our Group Practice at Nurture Beacon Bay in East London is looking for an Occupational Therapist or a Physiotherapist to join their Out-Patient department.

Nurture Health provides medical, acute and sub-acute rehabilitation treatment for people with a wide range of disabilities caused by disease or injuries. These include spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, strokes, neurological disorders, orthopaedic conditions, and other debilitating conditions and illnesses. Our organisation helps people who have become physically or cognitively impaired with the means to lead meaningful lives, regardless of any disability they may have acquired or circumstances they are returning to.


  • BSc Occupational Therapy / Occupational Therapy (community year completed) or a degree in Physiotherapy.
  • Registered with HPCSA (independent practitioner) and Malpractice Insurance.
  • Maintain CPD standing as required by HPCSA.
  • Bobath / NDT training is beneficial.
  • Interest in pediatric and adult neurology.
  • 3 years experience working with patients in an acute hospital setting is advantageous.
  • Willingness and passion to work with an interdisciplinary team.
  • Valid driver’s license with own transport.
  • Wheelchair Seating experience (intermediate/advanced is preferred).


  • Knowledge of the ICF Framework.
  • Good written and spoken English language skills (Afrikaans and Xhosa will be advantageous).
  • Effective interdisciplinary team member.
  • Awareness of evidence base for interventions.
  • Computer literacy (Beginner/intermediate Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook).
  • Ability to prioritise workload.
  • Able to work independently.

Apart from treating and billing patients, you will also be expected to:

  • Develop strong interpersonal relationships with the MDT in the various acute hospitals, while always maintaining professionalism, and assisting with marketing our facility accordingly.
  • Complete documentation in the various acute hospitals as per their standards and processes.
  • Complete the initial reports and updates as requested by our case management team.
